Businesses are started for a variety of different reasons…career options, money, independence, and the list continues. Day Star is no different…there was a reason and then a dream that became a reality.

Day Star was birthed out of the heart of a mother seeking to improve the quality of life for her son. Flo Dudley began the business in 1997 to help her son, Jim, who had been in a car accident and suffered severe head injuries. Jim had made tremendous progress, but his doctors recommended that he spend more time in society for his next step in recovery. Jim has overcome many challenges throughout the years and continues to progress daily. He is now married and is the proud father of a new baby boy.

God has blessed us with many faithful and loving customers. Our store may be considered small by the world’s standards, but our hearts are large toward the spiritual and physical needs of our customers. People may come in looking for a book, bible, or gift item but most of the time the need is deeper. It is at these times that we take the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them in any way we can. God’s Word tells us to “comfort those with the same comfort that He comforts us with” during our times of difficulty, but if your need is deeper, we will take the time to encourage you and pray for you because our goal is to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
